At GeoShape Surveys we have a dedicated team to undertake all site setting out requirements. Our Setting-out / Engineering surveys allow our clients to utilise our surveyor to mark up design features such as kerb lines, foundations, drainage and much more to make construction as straight forward and as painless as possible.
We also offer as-built surveys, these surveys keep an up to date record of all stages of siteworks and installations.
Without accurate setting-out, even a well-designed project can end up misaligned, at the wrong level, or in the wrong position relative to site boundaries and neighbouring structures. Getting it right at the start is far less expensive than correcting errors once construction is underway.

What is Setting-out?
Setting-out is the process of taking what exists on your design drawings and positioning it accurately on the physical site. This means establishing the precise locations and levels that construction needs to follow: marking out where foundations will be dug, where columns will stand, where walls will run, and where finished floor levels need to land.
Unlike a topographical survey, which records what is already there, setting-out is about the future. It gives your construction team the reference marks they need to build accurately from day one.

We provide setting-out services across Bristol, Cardiff, Bath, Newport, Swansea and the wider South West and South Wales region. Our team is based in Bedminster, Bristol and Crickhowell, Wales, giving us strong coverage across both sides of the Severn.
The earlier you involve us, the better. Ideally setting-out should be factored into the project programme before work on site begins. Involving our team during the pre-construction stage allows any discrepancies between design drawings and actual site conditions to be identified and resolved before they cause problems on the ground.
